Dear Colleagues,

The next NYC Media Seminar will take place on Wednesday, May 3.  Garrett Johnson (University of Rochester and Northwestern University) will present  The Online Display Ad Effectiveness Funnel & Carry-Over: A Meta-Study of Predicted Ghost Ad Experiments.  This will be our last seminar for the 2016-2017 season!  As always, the sessions begin at 10am with coffee, followed by a 90-minute presentation and discussion.

A note on logistics!   We recognize the hassle of Google security and last-minute room assignments.  To simplify logistics, plan to meet outside the main entrance to Google at 76 Ninth Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets (close to Starbucks).  Miklos and I will escort participants to the room between 10 and 10:30.  If you are late, text Lisa at 609-238-6111 and we will fetch you.  To speed check-in, please RSVP to Lisa at [log in to unmask] or to Miklos at [log in to unmask]columbia.edu.  We can always accommodate last-minute participants, but if you think you might attend please let us know.

Seminars are held the first Wednesday of each month during the academic year.  The goal of the seminar is to link economists in the greater New York area working on media topics by providing a regular forum to connect with media research in economics, marketing and beyond.  The seminar is open to all researchers with access to New York City and draws speakers from across the US and abroad. The seminar is jointly organized by Lisa George at Hunter College and Miklos Sarvary at Columbia Business School and has been generously supported by the Columbia Media Program, the Associated Press and Google.
