Position Title: Volunteer
Position Description:
Who's on Board is a community based formative implementation science study to determine the feasibility of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) scale up to Black and Latino adolescents in Bronx, New York. Marked racial disparities in the prevalence of adolescent HIV demonstrate the need to make biomedical HIV prevention available to younger age groups. With increasing calls from public health agencies and PrEP advocates for the age requirement of PrEP to be lowered, public health practitioners are in a unique position to anticipate the implications, consequences, and feasibility of PrEP uptake for adolescent HIV prevention.

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with quantitative data collection at Teen Health Center Sites (6 total) throughout the Bronx and Upper Manhattan.

Position Duties:
-Recruit eligible participants to complete a 35 minute survey at the Teen Health Center site
-Conduct informed consent procedures with adolescent participants
-Administer a Qualtrics survey to eligible adolescent participants using a study computer or tablet

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in adolescent medicine, sexual health, and/or HIV prevention. You will have direct contact with adolescent patients and providers. We will supply all of the needed materials and training including: eligibility criteria sheet, a computer or tablet for data collection, dedicated space for participants to complete the survey--you just need to start the survey and explain how to use the program, and contact information/question and answer forms about the study and PrEP.

Position Requirements:
-Strong communication and organization skills
-HIPAA training certificates (can be completed prior to data collection)

Time Commitment:

Data collection will take place between June-September 2017. Scheduled times are flexible

(within clinic hours). Minimum requirements are: 6 hours per week, 5 week commitment.
