​You are invited to Join us on July 19th from 10am-5pm  for a FREE Mental Health First Aide Certification course. Mental Health First Aide (MHFA) is a free one-day class offered by the City to train New Yorker’s on  the skills needed to identify, understand and respond to mental health and substance abuse challenges and crisis. MHFA leads to a greater recognition of behavioral health challenges and decreased stigmatizing attitudes towards mental illness.

You will learn how to give first aid to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and/or who are in the early stages of a mental health disorder.  After successfully completing the course, you will receive a certificate that is valid for a period of three years!

Adult MHFA

This course teaches participants a five-step action plan to help someone 18 years or older who is displaying signs of a mental illness or emotional crisis. The course will show you how to help an adult experiencing:

·         Psychosis

·         Substance use disorders
