Join us for an engaging discussion with Dr. Richard White. Dr. White holds a clinical appointment on the Gastrointestinal Oncology Service and a research appointment in the Cancer Biology and Genetics Program
at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is also an Assistant Professor at Weill-Cornell Medical College. Cancer biologist and oncologist Richard White studies evolutionary mechanisms that promote tumor progression and metastasis, using the zebrafish as a model system. Join us for an engaging discussion with Michelina Stoddard. Miki is a 5th year MD/PhD student (Entering class of 2012) in the Tri-Institutional MD/PhD Program at Weill Cornell Medical College. She graduated from
the University of Washington in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in neurobiology after transferring from Seattle Central Community College. Miki is the first person in her family to attend college, and having grown up in a socioeconomically disadvantaged environment,
understands firsthand the challenges associated with becoming a first-generation medical student. Her professional interests include forensic pathology, inflammation and innate immunity, advocacy for students belonging to groups that are under-represented
in medicine, and mentoring students. |
