STOP THE BLEED with NYP Trauma!

FREE Stop the Bleed courses are being offered at NYP/WC. Everyone is welcome! This course is specifically designed for people without healthcare experience.

The Stop the Bleed campaign was created by the American College of Surgeons in response to the shooting at Sandy Hook. Victims of shootings, explosions, and other disasters can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within five to 10 minutes. The Stop the Bleed campaign aims to teach people with no medical background the basic skills to stop life threatening bleeding until first responders arrive, potentially saving lives. Participants are taught basic bleeding control techniques including tourniquet application, direct pressure, and wound packing. Interactive, hands-on training is offered with lifelike, bleeding limbs.

The next course will be held on October 24th at 8PM.
