Proposals from all disciplines are encouraged!

Hunter College is pleased to announce its sixth annual Undergraduate Research Conference. Building on the success of previous years, this year’s conference will provide a forum for Hunter undergraduates from all disciplines and departments to present their research, scholarship or creative works via poster sessions and oral presentations. The conference will include information about pursuing research opportunities as well as applying to and thriving in graduate school, and will conclude with an awards ceremony honoring the best student presentations.


Submission Deadline: March 14, 2018


POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Hunter invites submissions from undergraduates to present up to two posters on research, scholarship or creative works conducted in any academic area. There will be at least two poster sessions each day of the conference.

Requirements

•Students must be an author on the poster. (Posters mayhave multiple authors.)

•Before submitting a poster for the conference, students must obtain approval from the Hunter faculty member whosupervised the research, scholarship or creative work, or aHunter faculty member who is willing to sponsor the submission if the work was conducted outside of Hunter.Faculty will be required to indicate their support of the submission as part of the application process.

Submissions must include an abstract of no more than 250words. Students are encouraged to work with their facultysponsors to develop their abstracts and posters.




ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Hunter invites submissions for undergraduates to give a 10-minute oral presentation on research, scholarship or creative work they have conducted in any academic area. Oral presentation sessions will take place on both conference days, with several students presenting during each session.

If the schedule cannot accommodate all oral presentation submissions, some students may be asked to present their work in the form of a poster presentation.

Requirements

Before submitting a proposal for the Conference, students must obtain approval from the Hunter faculty member who supervised the research, scholarship or creative work, or a Hunter faculty memberwho is willing to sponsor the submission if the work was conducted outside of Hunter. Faculty will be required to indicate their support ofthe submission as part of the application process.
