Description: |
Join us for a discussion on the current state of the US Opioid epidemic. In 2017, HHS declared the opioid epidemic a public health emergency. As reflected in
the latest mortality data from the CDC, deaths resulting from drug overdoses are up among both men and women, all races, and adults of nearly all ages. Opioid-involved deaths are continuing to increase in the United States. More than three out of five drug
overdose deaths involve an opioid. The discussion will be led by a student from Hunters’ School of Urban Public Health. Please skim the papers below. They will provide a good background on the issue. |
