MAPS MD/PhD/MD-PhD panel
Panelists include current MD-PhD student Olivia Maguire, current PhD student Camir Ricketts and Oyindamola Adefisayoas well as MD student Joshua Adjei.
Olivia Maguire received her BA from NYU in 2013, where she majored in biology. After working as a technician in a laboratory at NYU Medical Center, she joined the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD program of Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
and Rockefeller University. She is currently working toward her PhD in the Laboratory of Molecular Metabolism at Rockefeller University.
Camir Ricketts was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. In 2011, he left Jamaica to attend the University of Georgia where he studied Microbiology and Computer Science. While at UGA, he conducted research in Microbiology and successfully published his work
on Mycoplasma Gallisepticum vaccine strains. He decided to pursue cancer research and that led him to join the Tri-Institutional Computational Biology and Medicine Program at Weill Cornell where he now works on questions surrounding cancer evolution and structural
variations within tumors in the Hajirasouliha Lab.
Oyindamola Adefisayo was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria before leaving to study for the Cambridge A-level exams at the African Leadership Academy in South Africa. After completing her A-levels, she attended Clark University in Worcester, MA where she received
her B.A. in Biology in 2014. At Clark, she conducted on genetic interaction between the eye and wing formation in Drosophila melanogaster in the lab of Dr. Justin Thackeray. In 2014, she joined the Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis program at Weill Cornell
Graduate School of Medical Sciences.
Joshua Adjei is an MD Candidate, Class of 2018 at the Weill Cornell Medical College.
