The Summer Admissions Workshop is geared to potential students strategizing for the upcoming admissions cycle beginning July 1, 2018. 

Chief topics include detailed information on how to increase applicant competitiveness and the ins-and-outs of the admissions process.

Parents and spouses are invited to attend.  Reservations are a must!  


Strategy for OAT Success:
Managing Test-Taking Anxiety
 

For optometry applicants, taking the OAT is inherently stressful.  Even so, for some OAT test takers, there is excessive and unnecessary self-inflicted anxiety that can be avoided.

This article will explain what you can do before and during the OAT to help deal with the anxiety inherent in test-taking.

Applicants may purchase the entire practice test and/or individual modules that focus on individual sections of the test. The practice test allows applicants to familiarize themselves with the types of questions and question formats used in the OAT.

About the Southern California College of Optometry 
at Marshall B. Ketchum University

Located in Fullerton, CA, Marshall B. Ketchum University is an independent, private, non-profit, accredited educational institution. MBKU is now home to the Southern California College of Optometry, the School of Physician Assistant Studies and College of Pharmacy. Named after the founder of the optometric institution in 1904, the change to a university structure addresses the growing demand for highly skilled health care professionals. 
 
The university confers a four-year, professional degree, Doctor of Optometry (OD) and a Master of Science in Vision Science (MS) degree. MBKU's School of Physician Assistant Studies under the College of Health Sciences awards a Master of Medical Sciences (MMS) degree. MBKU's College of Pharmacy admitted its inaugural class Fall 2016 and will award a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.

MBKU owns and operates two premier eye and vision care centers, Ketchum Health and the University Eye Center at Los Angeles. Ketchum Health is the new multi-disciplinary health care center for community patients. 

MBKU is the first health care university in Southern California to bring three primary care disciplines together to learn and work collaboratively to provide effective patient care.
