Bronx-Westchester AHEC Programming

Health Careers Internship Program

Bronx-Westchester Area Health Education Center’s Health Careers Internship Program (HCIP) is a five-day a week summer program for students who have a strong interest in health care professions. Students will be given internships in community based organizations that provide services and supports projects that address community health issues.

Application Deadline: Sunday, May 5th, 2024

Program Dates: June 28th, 2024 - August 2nd, 2024

Eligibility: Students must be undergraduate juniors and seniors, post baccalaureate students, graduate students, health professions students, or post-doctoral fellows. Students must live or go to school in the Bronx or Westchester County

Join us on Saturday, April 27th for a celebration & reclamation of public space on the Mott Haven-Port Morris waterfront as we put up a new public art installation, designed by local-based artist, Les-lie Lopez, and informed by community members, that reflects our neighborhood’s strength, creativity and lived experiences. Let’s send a clear message that our waterfront is public land that needs to benefit the people and future needs of the South Bronx!

Schedule an appointment for a screening in our Mobile Mammography Van, which will be stationed at 770 East 176 Street on Mon, May 6th 9am to 3pm. No charge for those without health insurance coverage, Medicaid, or Medicare. No private insurance card required.
