Leo’s conversation with the editors of SEP (promised below) appears to have borne fruit. I have accepted an invitation from them to write an entry on critical thinking. Aside from their general guidelines on entries, they have asked that the entry overlap by no more than one section with the entries on informal logic and fallacies, and that an historical section of the entry should include mention of John Dewey and his book How We Think. Both these suggestions seem eminently sensible to me.

It is a very good idea. I would note that SEP added (after a significant discussion) an article onfallacies. I have found them quite selective in picking topics (they need to be convinced of a significant connection to philosophy). I will bring up this idea with the editors when I chat with them (probably next month).

The SEP is another widely used and respected, online resource in philosophy. A thorough, well-written page on CT there could do a lot for the field's visibility within philosophy and further bolster the argument for Critical Thinking as an AOS/AOC. Another plus is that a link from the SEP page to the AILACT page could eventually be added too, thus helping to promote our merry band of adventurers. It would also be a place, eventually, to reference the "Supertext" that Scriven, Johnson & Blair are working on, once it's complete.
Just a thought.
