*Title:* Research Analyst



*Location:* White Plains, NY (National Office)



*Position Purpose:*  To support the activities of the March of Dimes
Perinatal Data Center (PDC) in collecting, analyzing and interpreting
maternal and child health-related data, conducting research and preparing
reports. To support the PDC in the development and implementation of
mission-related pregnancy outcome and quality improvement databases.

*Position Responsibilities:*

·         Collect, summarize and interpret data to support the activities
of March of Dimes national, regional, and chapter staff, including
responding to requests, update of current PDC products and development of
new materials as necessary.

·         Assist with development of quality improvement and other
mission-oriented databases.

·         Provide analytic support for PDC quality improvement,
epidemiologic projects and data dissemination activities.

·         Conduct timely and relevant analysis of existing perinatal data
as needed by the organization.

·         Prepare summaries of perinatal and quality improvement analyses.

·         Participate in external meetings and departmental staff meetings,
as appropriate.



*Qualifications Required: *

·         Master’s degree (specialized area: public health/maternal and
child health epidemiology or related)

·         3-5 years of directly related experience

·         MS Access VBA or Visual Basic programming experience

·         Experience with epidemiologic methods, statistical analyses, and
database management of large data sets.

·         Experience with multivariate analytic techniques.

·         Proficiency in SPSS/SAS, Epi-Info, MS Access, SQL, MS Excel, MS
Word, and MS Power Point.

*Title:* Manager, Informatics Research and Development



*Location:* White Plains, NY (National Office)



*Position Purpose:*  Manages activities related to the development of new
information management systems and products that support the Perinatal Data
Center (PDC) goal of translating technical information for use by perinatal
health professionals. Manages existing and assists with the acquisition of
new informatics related grants.

*Position Responsibilities:*

·         Devise and implement strategies for developing new information
systems to support PDC priority areas and collaborations within the office
of the Medical Director, with other March of Dimes departments and with
external partner organizations that strengthen access to dissemination of
perinatal data.

·         Manage PDC interns

·         Manage, maintain, promote and enhance PDC information systems.

·         Establish and maintain system specification documents of
PeriStats website.

·         Design and maintain SQL Server rational databases and serve as
database administrator.

·         Expand capacity of PeriStats website by identifying and
implementing new functionality, data sets and information.

·         Develop new electronic and print production utilizing database
infrastructure.

·         Conduct marketing and outreach activities including development
of email marketing campaigns.

·         Identify and manage technical/design consultants

·         Conduct periodic evaluation activities

·         Conduct training of health professionals, March of Dimes staff
and volunteers on the use of PeriStats and perinatal data analyses and
research. Provide support and technical assistance to Match of Dimes staff,
volunteers and external health professionals on the use and interpretation
of perinatal data.

·         Conduct research analyses that contribute to the March of Dimes
knowledge base and maternal and infant health literature. Share findings
through publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations at health
professional conferences.

·         Manage informatics-related grants including collaborations with
project partners and assist with the development of progress reports for
funding agencies. Assist with acquisition of new PDC grants including grant
identification and writing. Other projects as assigned.

*Qualifications Required: *

·         5-7 years of related experience

·         Proficiency in database and information management systems
development

·         Experience with selecting and using software and hardware
components in support of data acquisition, management analysis, planning
and reporting.

·         Proficiency in SPSS, EpiInfo, Microsoft SQL Server DBMS Copy,
MapInfo, Corda Builder (used with Corda PopChart and OptiMap software
components), and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook)

·         Experience with website development

·         Familiarity with basic epidemiological research methods

·         Experience with grant writings

·         Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally.

·         Proficient in database architecture, epidemiology statistics,
website development

·         High regard for accuracy and precision, good communication
skills, creativity ability to multi-task
