Edible Schoolyard NYC - Call for Fall Kitchen & Garden Volunteers!

About Edible Schoolyard NYC

Edible Schoolyard NYC partners with public schools to build gardens and kitchen classrooms where children can engage in hands-on learning. Our goal is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and environment required to make healthier choices and change the way they eat for life.

Position Descriptions

PS/MS 7 & Global Tech in East Harlem is currently recruiting Kitchen Classroom and Garden Volunteers for the fall semester.

Garden volunteers have the opportunity to develop and share skills related to growing organic food in an urban environment, and will work alongside equally enthusiastic advocates of edible education.

Kitchen volunteers play an essential role in the operation of cooking class at P.S. 7. Many of their responsibilities focus on classroom cleanliness and equipment organization, alongside creating a learning environment that allows students to cook in a well-ordered classroom. Volunteers end the day sharing a tasting with the students who cooked it! Please note: these are not teaching positions.

Please see the individual postings for detailed information about Garden and Kitchen volunteer opportunities.
