Dear Hunter COMHE and other graduates,
I am an alumni from 2003 and currently am employed at a NYC public school
GED program. We are looking for a small group individuals who are employed
to volunteer their time and come talk about their careers, particularly if
you work in health, nursing, or allied health. If you are interested and
available, see the description (letter) below and please contact me at the
contact information listed below.
Thank you,
Priya Seshan

To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in Career Day at
Community Prep GED Plus on May 17, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Participants would agree to be part of a panel and discuss their current
career, job duties, educational background, and also are encouraged to
provide insight on what students could do now should they want to pursue
your career. There will be approximately 4-5 participants per panel, and
sessions will last until 11:15 a.m. At 11:15 a.m., we invite you to have
lunch with our students in our cafeteria so that they can speak with you
further and ask any additional questions they may have. Lunch should be
finished by 12 p.m.

Our school is a NYC public school and is funded by the NYC Department of
Education. We are a GED site that serves students who are ages 17-21 who
have previously dropped out of high school and are attempting to obtain
their GED equivalency diploma. Students are from all five boroughs but are
primarily from low-income areas of New York City and have had a variety of
hardships throughout their lives. Our population is mostly male and are
students of color. Your participation would expose our students to possible
career avenues they have never heard about and would highlight the
importance of continuing their education. We really would appreciate your
participation.

Should you be able to participate, please let me know. Should you require
further information, you may contact me at 212-889-7567 or email me at

Thank you very much for your time, and it is my hope that you will be able
to join us for career day.
Sincerely,
Priya Seshan
