This position is accountable for direct oversight of the School Based Health
Center Network Program, a program offering onsite medical, social work,
health education, dental and youth development programming to various
schools in NYC.   

 

The School Based Program Director positively supports MHHC's core values,
vision and mission to ensure that the organization's goals and objectives
are met.  

 

This position must have knowledge of NYCDOE systems, programs and have the
ability to navigate the varying and complex rules and regulations governing
SBHC.  It is critical that the person in this position have strong
communication skills, verbal and written, as it requires documentation in
terms of reports and proposal writing.  This position will be required to
oversee operations at the ever-growing SBHC network and requires hands on
practice in ensuring that everything that is needed for daily operations is
available, (supplies, staffing, and equipment).  Supervisory experience is a
must as this position will have direct supervision of staff  and projects.
This position will be engaged in the Performance Improvement Committee for
SBHC and will be required to identify and in some cases lead collaborative
and non-invasive research (includes organizing and arranging and evaluating
processes &  practices). This position is responsible for the development,
implementation and evaluation of the SBHC Network Program, including all
grant related tasks, reporting, budgeting, staff supervision and monitoring,
data collection and reporting, compliance with program goals and objectives
and identification and pursuit of funding for sustainability. The SBHC
Network Programs are funded by a variety of grants, NYSDOH, NYCDOH, and
other funders and requires very strict program fidelity, reporting and
evaluation. This position will be responsible for direct supervision of the
Practice Management Coordinator and oversee the work of the School Health
Assistants.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

*	Implement the overall strategic plan for the program; 
*	Promote SBHC Network Program to community stakeholders (partners,
school administrators, parents, businesses & others); 
*	Lead the selection and training of direct support service program
delivery staff; 
*	In collaboration with others, create and oversee data collection
tools and ensure completion of  required reports and evaluation; 
*	Report on evaluation data to internal & external stakeholders ; 
*	Prepare SBHC Network Program Staff for triennial and other
evaluation visits by NYSDOH, NYCDOH representatives; 
*	Develop and implement a plan for enhancing community support for the
program, including initiation and maintenance of community and student
advisory boards; 
*	Provide formal recognition to students and adults who contribute to
the program's success; 
*	Oversee all aspects of program design, implementation and evaluation
of SBHC Network Program;   
*	Develop and maintain a plan for recruiting and retaining staff; 
*	Ensure appropriate staff orientation and training, and monitoring
and evaluation of staff to ensure optimum job performance; 
*	Submit required reports in a timely manner; 
*	Represent and communicate the program at conferences, meetings and
offer overview at leadership and management meetings; 
*	Identify learning opportunities for staff; 
*	Actively promote the program in the broader community; 
*	Work with other departments in developing partnerships for mutual
referrals; 
*	Create a sustainability plan, submitting at least 4 proposals per
year; 
*	Attend meetings as requested by Manager; 
*	Initiates and maintains a learning environment for staff retention,
job satisfaction and growth. 

 

Requirements: MPH or related degree and at least 3 years managerial
experience.
