Available Immediately:   Project Assistant Position

A part-time Project Assistant position is available for one or two MPH students. The Project Assistant(s) will work primarily on organizing the 2015 COMHE First Fridays program (A Film and Dialogue Series on Health and Social Justice). The position will require a variety of organizational, administrative, and event support activities.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Administrative tasks associated with researching, setting up, and hosting the First Fridays events at The Silberman Campus at Hunter College, and possibly other campuses in the CUNY School of Public Health
• Contacts with various community-based organizations (CBOs) and other possible series partners
• Database set-up and management, for dissemination of program materials, etc
• Assistance with planning and coordination the day of First Fridays events
• Other clerical and administrative assistance as needed

Eligible candidates will be very self-directed and have strong Microsoft Word, internet-based research, and written communication skills; experience with database management (ideally with email interface) and social media highly desirable. Close attention to detail is required, as is the ability to work independently. Depending on whether one or two Project Assistants are hired, the position can involve between 10-20 hours per week, with expected attendance at the First Fridays events (Feb-May). Compensation is $15/hr.
