The Division of Health Interview Statistics (DHIS) of the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) is pleased to announce the Internet release of the 2014 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) data files and supporting documentation.

The 2014 NHIS contains the core questions, enhanced questions on health care access and utilization, and additional supplemental questions in the Family questionnaire on the subject of food security, Sample Adult questionnaire on the subjects of hearing, arthritis, heart disease and stroke prevention, hepatitis B and C screening, immunization, internet access and email usage, mental health, non-cigarette tobacco use, and e-cigarettes, and in the Sample Child questionnaire on the subjects of hearing, immunization, and mental health. Along with the 2014 NHIS core data files is the Family Disability Questions 2014 file which contains person-level data collected via six disability questions. These questions appeared on the NHIS, at the end of the Family Core. A disability supplement was also fielded in 2014 as part of the Sample Adult Core and is called "Functioning and Disability".

The 2014 NHIS data release consists of seven questionnaires, six core data files, a paradata file, a Family Disability Questions file, and a Functioning and Disability file. See the Survey Description document for more details (not attached).
