Strong science has linked the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages to obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, gout and dental decay.  Americans are drinking too many liquid calories.  Public health advocates across the country are implementing a wide variety of initiatives to reduce consumption. In this webinar, Roberta Friedman, the Director of Public Policy for the Yale Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity, will discuss why public health advocates are targeting sugar-sweetened beverages, the initiatives being implemented, and the response by the beverage industry to these reforms.
