We are looking for students who are passionate about clinical nutrition and/or nutrition support, and who envision remaining active in A.S.P.E.N. following their year of sponsored membership. Students also need to provide a letter from their school's dean or department chair confirming their status as an undergraduate or graduate student, taking a minimum of 12 credit hours. Student status is not available to residents or interns. The essays will be reviewed by the A.S.P.E.N. Membership Committee and selected students will be notified by March 1, 2013. The student membership includes: * Electronic subscriptions to industry-leading peer-reviewed publications, the Journal of Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition (JPEN) and Nutrition in Clinical Practice (NCP) * Access to A.S.P.E.N. Connect, a secure online forum for sharing ideas, getting advice and interacting with healthcare professionals worldwide. It also features a job board and a member directory. This is an exclusive member benefit-and more than 3,000 individuals are enrolled. * Membership in Sections that provide opportunities to increase professional knowledge and interact with others who share the same interests and challenges. * The ability to join chapters and network with local clinical nutrition providers. There are 34 chapters in the U.S. that carry out the mission and strategic goals of the national organization. * Opportunities to participate in career-enhancing learning experiences through face-to-face, virtual and self-directed online learning.
