Some of the jurisdictions we have worked with on healthy vending have found the following resources helpful in addressing these kinds of vendor-related questions:

• California Department of Public Health’s Network for a Healthy California’s Vending Machine Standards document<http://www.cdph.ca.gov/programs/cpns/Documents/Network-FV-WP-VendingMachineStandards.pdf> contains a list of “vendors offering selected healthy products” on page 3, and other helpful links.

• Community Commons’ healthy vending page<http://www.communitycommons.org/features/healthy-vending-machines/> has many relevant examples and case studies.

• The Bay Area Nutrition & Physical Activity Collaborative’s Healthy Vending Machine Toolkit<http://www.banpac.org/healthy_vending_machine_toolkit.htm> contains among other things a Sample lists of food<http://www.banpac.org/pdfs/healthy_vending/beverages_and_snacks_2_15_07.pdf> and Vending companies with healthy options<http://www.banpac.org/pdfs/healthy_vending/vending_companies_with_healthy_options_5-08-07.pdf>. Please note: these resources are now over 5 years old, but have still proven to be good starting places.

• The National Automated Merchandising Association’s Fit Pick™ Healthy Vending Solution<http://www.fitpick.org/>.

For folks who are interested in how government purchasing and vending works from a policy standpoint, here are two resources that might be of interest:
