Gateway to Global Health: CUNY School of Public Health Series on Global & International Health

May 4, 2016 at 6pm

CUNY SPH, 55 W. 125th Street, 7th Floor Auditorium

This is the third in a series of presentations focusing on public health systems and issues in other countries as well as global/international health work.

We'll be hearing from Rinzin Wangmo, who will provide an overview on the crumbling health policy and economic, political and environmental destruction in Tibet and her perceptions of growing up as a Tibetan refugee in India.

Presenter Bio: Rinzin Wangmo was born in rural Tibet. Given the political and economic repression in Tibet, her late mother brought her and her brother to India for a better future in 1996. She completed her free schooling at the Tibetan Children's Village School in Himachal Pradesh in India. Subsequently, she earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the Oxford Dental College in Bangalore and is now a CUNY SPH international graduate student in health policy and management.

Event is free but please RSVP so we can get a headcount for food: tinyurl.com/zfn4vek<http://tinyurl.com/zfn4vek>
