The Office of the Associate Director for Policy is pleased to announce a new CDC initiative, Health Impact in 5 Years (HI-5), and the new HI-5<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.cdc.gov_policy_hst_hi5_&d=CwMF-g&c=mRWFL96tuqj9V0Jjj4h40ddo0XsmttALwKjAEOCyUjY&r=gw6dgcl4aL0ZtNHJl7OEsLCNGtawjInwXOkDmXH4-DY&m=7z5M9SpIS55FkrMguMdvFoe_fN1av5og7MiRuQ4u4o8&s=ikQp9zaQzQIOhzM0avuyNIzB7WtJ-ACBNeQd72fy0bg&e=> website.

HI-5 highlights a list of non-clinical, community-wide approaches that have evidence reporting 1) positive health impacts, 2) results within 5 years, and 3) cost effectiveness and/or cost savings over the lifetime of the population or earlier.

With its emphasis on community-wide approaches, HI-5 complements CDC’s 6|18 Initiative<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.cdc.gov_sixeighteen_&d=CwMF-g&c=mRWFL96tuqj9V0Jjj4h40ddo0XsmttALwKjAEOCyUjY&r=gw6dgcl4aL0ZtNHJl7OEsLCNGtawjInwXOkDmXH4-DY&m=7z5M9SpIS55FkrMguMdvFoe_fN1av5og7MiRuQ4u4o8&s=kP4rQKCF6d_eltFlCKgURwbAXL41ggKhXZkBcD7q798&e=>, which focuses on 18 traditional and innovative clinical interventions for 6 high-burden conditions. Together, HI-5 and 6|18 provide public health, healthcare, and a diverse array of other sectors with evidence across the continuum of prevention and care.

We look forward to working with you on HI-5, and continuing to make a difference in the places where we live, learn, work, and play.
