* Convene community leaders and members to identify SNAP program barriers and develop a comprehensive plan to improve access in their communities.

* Recruit, manage, and train community volunteers to conduct screening and application assistance and to develop SNAP program materials and application assistance materials along with related trainings to community-based organizations.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Come See What’s Cookin’ Kids! (CSWCK), a program of the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Tobacco

Control’s Healthy Eating & Active Living Unit, motivates and empowers children and their families to eat more fresh

fruits and vegetables through free bilingual, hands-on education workshops targeted to children at farmers’ markets in

low-income neighborhoods in New York City. During the 2014 farmers’ market season, an evaluation will be conducted

of the CSWCK program to determine program impact on knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral outcomes of program

participants. This evaluation will also identify the factors that make the program successful and how we can better meet

the needs of program participants.



DUTIES:

Under the guidance of the NYC DOHMH evaluation team, the CSWCK Evaluation Coordinator will perform the

following duties:



Develop evaluation tools and protocols

• Conduct a literature review and develop evaluation tools, including an adult/caregiver survey.

• Develop evaluation protocol and assist with hiring and training of data collectors.



Oversee and assist with implementation of survey

• Schedule and supervise data collectors to implement survey at each of the program sites

• Conduct data entry, cleaning, and analysis

• Assist with synthesizing findings into written report



PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience developing evaluation tools;

• Experience coordinating and implementing evaluation protocols;

• Experience working in low-income communities;

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;

• Knowledge of nutrition and public health;

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure that education delivered follows the ADA standards of care

• Implements customized educational programs based upon needs.

• Implement Diabetes curriculum and direct overall staff training, programs and educational goals under very general supervision, following DEP guidelines.

• Serve as a trusted advisor in diabetes education for targeted healthcare professionals.

• Responsible for the completion of territory goals.

• Work closely with management giving insight and gaining knowledge of the staffs' and patients' educational needs.

• Adjust territory routing to help ensure that targeted providers receive exposure to DEP.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Senior Manager of Global Scientific Affairs - Agricultural Sciences will support PepsiCo Corporate R&D research teams in providing technical expertise and insights to internal R&D innovation projects, to emerging issues in global agricultural practices and to long term strategic relationships with global raw material suppliers. • Five to ten years of experience in food industry, government or related industry in a similar role.
