Trip to Rodale Institute and Farm, May 18th

Registration Now Open!



Join GNYDA Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Special Interest Group (HEN SIG), along with fellow food and nutrition students and professionals on this wonderful opportunity to visit the famous Rodale Institute in Kutztown, PA. Founded in 1947, the Institute studies the link between healthy soil, healthy food and healthy people and is dedicated to pioneering organic farming through research and outreach.



Learn more about where your food comes from on this exciting trip!



The day’s events will include:



•      A briefing on the history of the Rodale Institute



•      A 30-minute educational presentation on Rodale Institute’s Farming Systems Trial®, the longest running side-by-side US study comparing organic and conventional agriculture



•      A 1-hour guided tour of the Rodale Farm



•      Opportunities to network with food and nutrition professionals over lunch in the farm pavilion (bring your own packed lunch)



•      1-hour to explore the 333 acre farm and gardens at your leisure



•      A presentation by Master Composter Oren Yaniv on all things composting



•      Opportunity to earn Continuing Professional Education Units (4 CPEUs for Registered Dietitians have been requested)

When: Saturday, May 18th, 2013



Time: Full day trip leaving from Midtown, Manhattan at 7:45AM and returning to NYC between 3:30-4:00PM. Transportation will be provided and is included in registration fee.



Registration Fees:



GNYDA, LIDA, and WRDA Members: $65.00

Students (must bring valid student ID): $65.00

Non-GNYDA, LIDA, WRDA Members: $85.00
