Subject: City Harvest: Evaluation / Data Collection Volunteer Opportunity
City Harvest is seeking volunteers to conduct surveys with participants of our Mobile Markets. Volunteers are needed for the following neighborhoods: Washington Heights / Inwood, Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, South Bronx, and the North Shore of Staten Island. This research will help us monitor City Harvest’s progress towards desired program outcomes and identify program improvement opportunities. The data collection effort will occur across eight market events in June and July 2012 (held either on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday mornings).
Qualifications:
· Interest in food and policy issues and conducting research.
· A minimum commitment to volunteer for (4) three-hour shifts.
· Ability to travel to at least once to each neighborhood (plans will be made for group transportation to Staten Island)
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a courteous and professional manner.
· Bilingual speakers are particularly needed: Spanish, Chinese, Russian and Creole.
Volunteers will need to attend a 90-min training on at 530pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. All interested persons should contact [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by Thursday, May 24th.
