Subject: 2015 Dietary Guidelines

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans are reviewed and updated every five years. They provide healthy eating advice, but importantly, they are the basis of all federal nutrition policy (and a lot of state and local policy too). The first Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee meeting will take place June 13-14 on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. You can view the Federal Register Notice here: http://www.ofr.gov/OFRUpload/OFRData/2013-12859_PI.pdf.

You can access additional information and register to attend the meetings in-person or via webinar at: www.dietaryguidelines.gov<http://www.dietaryguidelines.gov/>.

Finally, the Public Comments Database is open. The public can submit written comments throughout the Committee’s advisory process. Written public comments can be submitted and/or viewed using the “Submit Comments” and “Read Comments” links, respectively on the Public Comments<http://www.health.gov/dietaryguidelines/dga2015/comments/> site.
