Subject: Bill to eliminate tax deduction for junk food marketing to kids

Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) recently introduced the Stop Subsidizing Childhood Obesity Act (S. 2936<https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/s2936>/H.R. 5232<https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/hr5232>) which would eliminate the tax deduction for marketing junk food to children. For more information about the bill, please see our fact sheet<http://www.foodmarketing.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/stop_subsidizing_childhood_obesity_act_fact_sheet2016.pdf>. You can also read Sen. Blumenthal and Rep. DeLauro’s press release here<https://www.blumenthal.senate.gov/newsroom/press/release/blumenthal-and-delauro-introduce-bill-to-end-federal-tax-subsidy-for-unhealthy-food-beverage-marketing-to-children>.
