As part of a budget deal, officials in New York City announced $17.9 million in funding toward a program that will eventually provide free breakfast in elementary school classrooms citywide to more than 339,000 students<http://click.rwjfmail.org/?qs=e194d09f5e94d7bb88b5e9344f72e6f5e21d136fd122ab40e491338663b31989>. The city has offered free breakfasts since 2003, but in many schools only to students who eat in the cafeteria before school starts.
