Threat to Public Health Continue in Congress

Last week an action alert was open asking members to contact their members of Congress. We are asking Academy members to take action as soon as possible to tell Congress to keep the Prevention Fund intact. Academy members across the country play a critical role in community-based prevention programs that often receive support from the Prevention Fund. Learn more about these programs click here<https://www.eatrightpro.org/resource/advocacy/disease-prevention-and-treatment/cardiovascular/rdns-and-the-prevention-and-public-health-fund>. To take action go to the Academy’s Action Center<http://www.eatrightpro.org/action-center>.

Race to the End of the Year - Dietary Guidelines and Child Nutrition Programs

In Congress, reauthorizing child nutrition programs is still a priority this year. The Academy continues to support our Congressional champions working on final negotiations on child nutrition programs, like WIC, School Meals, Farm to School, Child and Adult Care Food Program. To review the Academy's recommendations click here.

Please show your support for Dietary Guidelines to members of Congress, <http://www.eatrightpro.org/resource/news-center/on-the-pulse-of-public-policy/from-the-hill/threats-to-the-dga> by doing the action alert<http://www.eatrightpro.org/action-center> and tweeting support #SupportDGA
