The American College of Cardiology is looking to hire a temporary position for mid-January to early June.  The main responsibilities are project management and administrative, but if the person hired has an interest in the clinical issues then there are a lot of opportunities to be more involved in the clinical side of the responsibilities.  While this is a temporary position, there is some potential for it to be longer term but it is not guaranteed.


The position will assist with the management of physician workgroups for two different quality programs on anticoagulation and cholesterol.  Below is an overview of some of the responsibilities for each program.

 Anticoagulation Initiative:
1.       Manage the workgroup to keep things moving
a.       Regular calls (e.g., agenda, minutes, follow up items)
b.       Assist workgroup with publication efforts (e.g., references, coordination of assignments and drafts)
c.       Assist with follow up related to other projects as identified
2.       Schedule meeting for workgroup at ACC’s annual meeting
3.       Monitor news related to anticoagulation and disseminate to team and workgroup (when time permits)
4.       Start planning second roundtable meeting for Sept. 2014
a.       Get workgroup to start thinking about participant invitation list and agenda
b.       Coordinate with ACC staff and PR firm regarding dates and reserving space
5.       Coordinate with other ACC staff and serve as liaison to the workgroup as needed
6.       Prepare for ACC’s annual meeting
a.       Work with business development  on agendas/expectations for meeting with sponsors
b.       Prepare materials for each meeting (mostly updating previous documents)
c.       Assist Senior Director with preparation for each meeting (e.g., schedule of all meetings)
7.       Quarterly reports for sponsors (updating content of previous report based on instructions to be provided)
8.       Miscellaneous administrative duties as needed

LDL: Address the Risk:
1.       Manage workgroup to keep things moving
a.       Regular calls (e.g., agenda, minutes, follow up items)
b.       Assist workgroup with publication efforts (e.g., references, coordination of assignments and drafts)
c.       Assist with follow up related to other projects as identified
d.       Schedule meeting for workgroup at ACC’s annual meeting
2.       Assist Think Tank Committee with publication efforts
a.       Coordination of drafts, references, assignments, etc.
b.       Coordinate with other think tank participants for sign off
c.       Schedule meeting for group at ACC’s annual meeting
3.       Monitor news related to LDL/dyslipidemia and disseminate to team and workgroup (as time permits)
4.       Coordinate with other ACC staff and serve as liaison to the workgroup as needed
5.       Prepare for ACC’s annual meeting
a.       Work with business development  on agendas/expectations for meeting with sponsors
b.       Prepare materials for each meeting (mostly updating previous documents)
c.       Assist Senior Director with preparation for each meeting (e.g., schedule of all meetings)
6.       Miscellaneous administrative duties as needed
