People’s Climate March
Climate change impacts our health and wellbeing. It affects the social and environmental determinants of health – clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient healthy food and secure shelter. Further, the most vulnerable people—children, the elderly, the poor, and those with underlying health conditions—are at increased risk and suffer the most from the health effects from climate change. Climate change also stresses our health care infrastructure and delivery systems. Our food system, however, can play a key role<http://peoplesclimate.org/foodjustice/> in achieving global food security and mitigating climate change.
This September, world leaders are convening in NYC for a United Nations summit on climate change. Organizers from all sectors are preparing for “the largest climate march in history<http://peoplesclimate.org/>.” We have prepared a list of ways you can learn more and get involved – see below!
