I joined the U.S. Department of State in 2005 when I realized that I craved a career in public service. For the first three years, I was a Civil Service Engineer with the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, which led to my current role as a Foreign Service Construction Engineer.
Being a construction manager for new embassy projects gives me the opportunity to represent American values overseas while still using my technical expertise as a licensed professional engineer. It is also a way for me to show women in other countries that careers in traditionally male fields are truly possible for our gender. I am proud of the work we do, and I look forward to a long and fulfilling career constructing facilities where diplomacy is conducted.
