Membership and Administration Coordinator, Chefs Collaborative

Description: Reporting to the Executive Director, the primary focus of this role is to support and grow Chefs Collaborative's national Membership, manage the financial and administrative tasks of our virtual office and help produce our 7th Annual Summit in NYC in partnership with NYU Department of Nutrition, Food Studies & Health April 10 - 12, 2016. Responsibilities will include:

Administrative

  *   Maintain Salesforce CRM database as System Administrator; pull lists and create specific reports for Board and staff as needed.
  *   Maintain Quickbooks (basic financial data entry) and prepare for the monthly appointment with bookkeeper.
  *   Manage all incoming and outgoing funds, including paying bills, entering credit card charges, and making deposits at the local bank.
  *   Identify and implement new technology and resources to increase organizational and staff efficiency.
  *   Produce weekly sponsor and gift donation acknowledgment letters.
  *   Answer general requests, phone calls, and emails.
  *   Order office supplies and event supplies as requested/needed.

Membership

  *   Help develop and implement an annual Membership plan under the direction of the Executive Director and Board to increase, retain and engage members.
  *   Create regular Membership analysis and progress reports for the Executive Director and Board.
  *   Help write Membership communications, including weekly and monthly e-newsletters, renewal letters, recruitment appeal letters, social media and other relevant outreach materials.
  *   Communicate with and provide support for Members across the country via email, phone and online Facebook community
  *   Update and maintain Member, Program, Events and Locals-related sections of website.
  *   Provide administrative, communications and event support to Locals Groups, individual Member fundraising events and 2016 Annual Summit in NYC as needed.
  *   Research and implement new Membership innovations and technologies that increase the reach and value of membership.

Location
This position is remote and based in New York City.

Skills & Experience

  *   Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  *   1 - 5 years professional work experience with similar type and level of responsibilities
  *   Personal passion for Chefs Collaborative's mission
  *   Self-motivated with ability and desire to work independently from home with limited supervision and as part of a small, cohesive, virtual team based in different cities/time zones
  *   Organized, detail-oriented and strong written communication skills
  *   Experience working with chefs and restaurants a plus

Technical Skills

  *   Highly Recommended: Salesforce, Quickbooks
  *   Other: Mailchimp, Formstack, Google Docs, WordPress, EventBrite, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram

Candidates must be available to start work on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 and be available to work full-time through at least May 31, 2016
