The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences in The Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant Professor (12 month appointment) with expertise in nutritional sciences.
 The Milken Institute School of Public Health has a diverse and growing faculty, with a $40 million research portfolio. As the only school of public health in the nation's capital, faculty and students have a unique opportunity to work closely with government agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration, as well as the numerous non-governmental organizations that are headquartered in DC.
 Primary responsibilities for the position include an active role in nutrition research, teaching, and service.  The successful candidate will devote approximately 50% effort to obtaining, implementing or overseeing funded research, and 50% to teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. It is expected that the successful applicant will conduct human research, rather than laboratory-based research.
Basic qualifications: Applicants must have: 1) an earned doctorate in nutritional science or public health nutrition; 2) at least two years of experience as a post-doctoral fellow conducting nutrition-related research, 3) at least two years of undergraduate teaching experience specifically in nutrition courses as the sole (or lead) instructor, 4) experience teaching nutrition at the graduate level, 5) relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals; and 6) evidence of (or potential for) obtaining independent, external nutrition research funding.
