PCD Accepting Submissions for 2014 Student Research Paper Contest


Dear Colleagues,

Do you know an exceptional student who's doing great work in the field of chronic disease prevention and health promotion? Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) is currently taking submissions for its 2014 Student Research Paper Contest. This contest seeks to recognize, encourage, and promote scientific research and writing and to provide an opportunity for students to publish their work.

The submission deadline for this contest is quickly approaching. Help us spread the word by sharing this call for participation with your students, colleagues, and friends. PCD Student Research Paper Contest - Call for Participation

Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) announces its 2014 Student Research Paper Contest. PCD is looking for graduate and undergraduate students to submit papers relevant to the prevention, screening, surveillance, and/or population-based intervention of chronic diseases, including but not limited to arthritis, asthma, cancer, depression, diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. A peer-reviewed electronic journal, PCD was established to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in chronic disease prevention and health promotion. The journal is published weekly by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.

The winning manuscript will be recognized on the PCD website and will be published in a 2014 PCD release.

Papers must be received electronically no later than 5:00 PM EST on January 23, 2014. For more information on the contest and how to submit a manuscript, visit http://www.cdc.gov/pcd/announcements.htm#student.
