WEBINAR on Working with blind vending contractors: Tuesday, March 26th 3:00-4:30 EST. Healthy vending in public buildings, working with healthier food choices in public places (healthy food procurement), learn about the Randolph-Sheppard  Act and it's mandates for working with blind vendors. Hear four case studies of states that have had good or bad experiences in this area. What worked for them and what didn't. Will also have time for Q&A.

FOOD SAFETY/FOOD ACCESS

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The Workgroup wants to find ways to promote 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Possibly using social media, collecting examples of what people do to reach 60 minutes, and identifying demonstration communities or schools that achieve 60 minutes of physical activity.



Key Resource: Rails-to-Trails and our partners are circulating a letter that is going to be sent to all 50 governors. The letter introduces our new Partnership for Active Transportation which is working to increase investment in trails, walking and biking at the local, regional, state and federal levels. We very much welcome more organizations signing on to the letter. We also will be doing customized cover memos attached to the letter addressing unique issues in each state.
