New Draft Position Paper “Nutritional Genomics” Available for Member Comment
The draft of the new potential Academy position paper "Nutritional Genomics " was released for member review and input on June 19, 2103. The 14-day review and comment period, will conclude on July 3, 2013.

Washington and Idaho Call for Speakers
The 2014 Washington State Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and the Idaho Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Convention Planning Team is accepting speaker proposals for their 2014 event.
Scheduled for April 6-8, in Spokane, Washington at the Northern Quest Resort & Casino, the Idaho/Washington convention will bring together an estimated 400-500 food and nutrition professionals.
Presentations will reflect cutting edge research and practical applications, with a special emphasis on interactive sessions. The Idaho/Washington Convention Planning Team is accepting proposals for general and concurrent sessions (April 7 & 8), as well as a pre-convention workshop(s) for April 6th.

Evidence Analysis Library Expert Workgroup Recruitment
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is seeking workgroup members for the following Evidence Analysis Projects:
* Umami and Healthy Eating
* Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Guideline
* Heart Failure Guideline
The main focus of Evidence Analysis Projects will be to answer pertinent questions related to the topic using the Academy’s systematic evidence analysis process.
Workgroup responsibilities include:
* Finalize questions for evidence analysis on the topic
* Work with trained evidence analysts, review and approve evidence-based summaries and conclusion statements
* Rate conclusions based on an evidence grading scale
* Review, finalize and approve the evidence-based information for publication on the Evidence Analysis Library (www.adaevidencelibrary.com<http://www.phcnpg.org/eblast/link.cfm?eml=388&usr=004B1404445C265B4C5E1707401750410B1F4F55554C&desc=www%2Eadaevidencelibrary%2Ecom&dest=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eadaevidencelibrary%2Ecom%2F>)
* Participate in teleconferences (~two per month) and respond to emails
The Workgroup Selection Sub-Committee will review candidate information. All candidates must meet the following criteria:
1) Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice and/or research
2) Master’s degree (in lieu of MS, 8 yrs work experience relating to topic area will be accepted)
3) Three years of work in or with some relationship to the focus of the project
