This month the Digest shares a number of systematic reviews, covering On line health information tools, disparities in tobacco marketing, mobile health services, and health literacy effects on informed decision making (Bolle, et al.; Lee, et al.; Silva, et al.; van der Heide, et al.).
Health communication campaign design considerations are also explored, including media type influences, use of social marketing practices, segmentation and tailoring, science news consumption, and important cognitive processes when using email messages (Bode, et al.; Deshpande, et al.; Kim and Nan; Su, et al.; Wills, et al; Wilson, et al.). Three studies specifically focus on ideas for mitigating the effects of misinformation (Bode and Vraga; Dixon, et al.; Tan, et al.).
Health communication interventions are also reported on physical activity, antismoking, nutrition, and literacy effects on a texting intervention (Craig, et al.; Huang, et al.; Payne, et al.; Perosky, et al.). Finally, Lagoe and Atkin investigate health information seeking behavior of adults; and Zhu, et al., propose a new model for identifying and measuring influence in online social networks.
