We have an upcoming volunteer opportunity that might be of interest to you and your network. On July 2nd, some 250 volunteers will join City Harvest in the largest food show rescue of the year – the Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center! At the close of the show, volunteers will work in teams to collect perishable and non-perishable food donations which will be loaded onto four City Harvest trucks.  We anticipate rescuing over 200,000 pounds of food which will be distributed to emergency food programs throughout the five boroughs.

We’d love to share this opportunity with the Hunter College network to help us conquer this rescue!







Additional details are included in the attached document and if you would like up individually or sign up with a group ( must be 18 and older) , please email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Volunteers will be on their feet for most of the event and must be able to lift 10-30lbs boxes & items and push large, heavy containers. All should wear comfortable, cool clothing, closed toed shoes (no sandals or flats) and bring water / snacks. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
