the next Food Services Guidelines national networking call will be Thursday, February 25th, at 11:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM MT / 1:00 PM CT / 2:00 PM ET. It is a one-hour call.

The topic of the call will be implementing healthier food and beverage environments in hospitals.

Participants will hear from Allina Health System about its recent food and beverage policies and systems changes, which include the phase out of sugary beverage sales, removal of deep fat fryers, and a decision to end a long-standing contract with the McDonald's at one of its hospitals. A recent news article provides some background about these changes: http://www.startribune.com/minneapolis-hospital-will-close-its-mcdonald-s/359704121/.

Dr. Brook Belay, from the CDC's Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity and Obesity in the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion will also be joining us to talk about the CDC's Healthy Hospital Tool Kit, available here: http://www.cdc.gov/obesity/strategies/healthy-hospital-environment-toolkit/index.html.

Please mark your calendars for this call;registration information will follow next week.

Best,
Julie
