Clinical Nutrition Manager, Harlem Hospital Center, New York, NY

Reporting to the Food Service General Manager, the Clinical Nutrition Manager will:

What You'll Do:

3. Provides quality nutrition counseling to patients and family members as indicated.
4. Evaluates nutrition care plans for effectiveness and recommends changes as needed. Uses professional judgment to adapt and apply guidelines, protocols and professional standards of care to the new and changing needs of the patient.
5. Evaluates and assesses the need for enteral and parenteral nutrition support, and provides recommendations as indicated.
6. Participates in interdisciplinary rounds as needed. Communicates effectively with members of the health team.
7. Assist with discharge planning as needed.
8. Precepts dietetic interns and instructs them on the competencies required to complete their assigned rotation. Provides feedback for incorporation into student evaluations.
9. Participates in community focused education programs.
10. Other duties as assigned.

  EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred, but not required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) from NYS office of the Professions.

The program is held at the Honor’s Haven Resort & Spa in the beautiful Catskill Mountains in Ellenville, NY and caters to young adult men and women ages 18 – 25 and adults 26 – 60+. The nutritionists’ main responsibilities are to oversee the nutrition program, including supervising the SDR menu, meals and snacks served, conducting metabolic RMR testing (training provided), teaching nutrition and wellness classes, responding to guests’ questions, assessing guests’ nutritional needs, preparing customized programs for the guests to use at home, developing new content pertinent to the continued growth of the program, and assisting the staff with fitness and social activities. The nutritionists participate in the program alongside the other staff and guests. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on, real life experience as a nutritionist for guests seeking to lose weight and get healthier. tailored to students currently studying nutrition that may be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. As an intern, you will become ex- tremely knowledgeable in nutrition research and writing, electronic medical record keeping, private practice administration and understanding the role of a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in private practice.

Interns will learn how to work in a professional environment and have opportunities to network with our team of dietitians and other healthcare practitioners. This is great experience that can be added to a dietetic internship application.

Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule and manage a high volume of appointment requests
