The Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University seeks to fill a USDA-funded postdoctoral fellowship in Community Nutrition. The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent degree and a record of accomplishment in community nutrition, human development, public health or health communications, and will be committed to a career of research focused on obesity prevention among parents and youth. The successful candidate will need to travel to multiple sites in New York State so a valid driver’s license is required.

Research will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Jamie Dollahite, in collaboration with a team of researchers working in behavioral economics, and will involve coordination with and training of Cooperative Extension staff. The specific project is an integrated research-extension project that uses mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) and focuses on changes in school food environments and communication of nutrition and physical activity messages to parents. The successful candidate will be responsible for process evaluation of the project, as well as collaboration in designing and evaluating messages sent to parents from schools regarding healthy food choice.

This appointment will be for one-year and may be renewed for up to 3 years in total, pending successful performance and available funding.
