'NYC Condom- A Retrospective Exhibit'

'NYC Condom- A Retrospective Exhibit' features the social marketing and interactive digital media that have made the NYC Condom<http://www.facebook.com/nyccondom> a unique and integral part of life in NYC since the city launched the nation's first municipally-branded condom in 2007.

The New York City Health Department has been providing free male condoms since 1971, starting with STD clinics in the early '70s, and later expanding the free condom distribution program to HIV/AIDS service organizations in the late '80s. The City later introduced the nation's first city-branded condom, the 'NYC Condom', on National Condom Awareness Day 2007, with a city-wide social marketing campaign. Since 2007, the Health Department has used National Condom Awareness Week as a platform to launch new innovations and expand programmatic reach. This exhibit is a collection of the NYC Condom media and social marketing that have been part of these large-scale public health efforts.

The exhibit opens February 15th at 1pm and will be on display at NYU Kimmel Galleries, 60 Washingtong Square South, through Thursday, February 28th.
