From: our very own Lauren Dinour, RD, DPH

The Hudson Valley Farm Hub is seeking a Spanish Instructor to help foster communication between monolingual English and Spanish speakers on our team. The Spanish Instructor will create curriculum and lesson plans and teach a weekly Spanish lesson to a group of staff members, including ProFarmer trainees who are a part of a multi-year, residential professional farmer training program. S/He will work to provide a learner-centered, participatory experience, and to align classes with concurrent program activities and with our organizational culture, mission, and vision. S/he will foster an immersive language experience by teaching predominantly in the target language.

If the consultant is fully bilingual and has sufficient experience and certifications, there may be opportunities to expand responsibilities to include providing translation for select Farm Hub and LEP documents and interpretation for meetings, as needed.

The Farm Hub, an initiative of the Local Economies Project, is a nonprofit education, research, and demonstration farm on 1,255 acres of prime farmland in Hurley, NY. Our mission is to build an equitable and ecologically resilient food system in the Hudson Valley. Increasing bilingual spaces within our organization is an important support for our efforts to create an inclusive environment and strengthen our team.
