Established federally qualified health center, Urban Health Plan Inc, seeks to fill 3 open positions for RD certified Nutritionists within 3 different departments. Urban Health Plan has been serving the high risk population of the South Bronx for 39 years continuing to expand services to numerous satelite clinics and at least 7 different school based health centers.
Adolescent Health and Wellness Center
Responsibilities of all positions include:
* Provision of one-one or group nutrition counseling to patients and family members of high-risk adolescents
* Develop culturally competent nutrition education materials (handouts, workshops) on various health/nutrition topics
* Participate in cooking demonstration and outreach events (health fairs, community partner events)
* Previous experience providing medical nutrition therapy to adolescent youth a plus
* B.S in Nutrition and RD/CDN required
* Flexible hours, including some weekends, highly motivated and personable
* Spanish speaking preferred for Adolescent Health and Wellness Center
Nutritionist
Provision of one-one or group nutrition counseling to patients and family members of various poplations including geriatric, pediatrics, adults and obstetrics.
* Develop culturally competnent nutrition education materials (handouts, workshops) on various health/nutrition topics
* Participate in cooking demonstration and outreach events (health fairs, community partner events)
* Bachelors degree in Nutrition, RD/CDN required
* Prior related experience a plus
* Flexible hours, Must speak Spanish fluently, highly motivated and great communication skills.
Pediatric Nutritionist-Fit-4- Life Childhood Obesity Prevention Program
The Fit for Life Program is a grant based program that utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach designed to promote and maintain healthy weight in children ages 0-59 months. Accomplishments of the program include national recognition at various professional conferences over the past 2-3 years. A nutritionist is needed to provide nutrition counseling to pediatric population 0-59 months of age.
Responsibilities/ requirements:
* Responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy and education for all populations with an emphasis on overweight, obese and underweight children up to 59 months.
* Collaborate with the Pediatrics department to enhance nutrition services.
* Attend weekly nutrition as well as program meetings.
* Bilingual – English/Spanish required, Registered Dietitian/CDN license required.
* Should be creative and must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
