Hello Psychology Students:

The World Trade Center Health Research Program @ Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is recruiting!  Please see below for detais:

Research Internship Opportunity:

The World Trade Center Health Research Program (WTC-HRP) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks highly organized, motivated individuals to serve as interns for a study group investigating biological and psychosocial factors of risk and resilience for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in World Trade Center (WTC) rescue and recovery workers. This group is funded for a number of studies including a clinical trial comparing two forms of psychotherapy, a biological study of resilience of PTSD, and a brain imaging study of resilience.

Areas of Study:
Each of this team's studies examines PTSD in World Trade Responders in order to help guide prevention, treatment, and preparedness planning efforts, as well as understanding biological, social, and psychological factors of PTSD.

Responsibilities/Learning Opportunities:
Interns will perform a variety of tasks and will be exposed to opportunities including, but not limited to: (1) phone recruitment and screening of subjects, (2) data entry (3) assisting with administrative tasks (4) administering cognitive testing to subjects.

Qualifications:
A major in psychology or a relevant field of study is preferred. Prior research experience is a PLUS, but not required.  Ideal applicants will be individuals who can commit to the internship during the summer months and can continue to work with the team into the fall semester.  Student MUST be able to work at least 10 hours per week (two part-time days), for a time commitment of at least 6 months.
