STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

POST-BACCALAUREATE/MD PROGRAM

We are pleased to announce a program which will enable exceptional
post-baccalaureate students, nominated by their institutions, to be
considered for admission to our School of Medicine for the 2007 entering
class. Up to five places will be available.

Each participating institution may nominate up to five candidates for
consideration for this program. Candidates who have already applied or are
applying to a special linkage program are ineligible. General requirements
for admission to the School of Medicine are described in the information
below.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Completion by June, 2007 of all premedical requirements (one year
each

General and Organic Chemistry, Biology and Physics -- all with
laboratory and one year of English)

2. Scores from the Medical College Admission Test, taken no later than
May 11, 2007

3. Experience in a clinical setting, research, or service to the
community

4. Distinguished academic ability, and an informed interest in our
School of Medicine

5. Possession of a baccalaureate degree

Prospective candidates should be aware that because our 2007 entering class
will be largely filled by the time that applications to this program are
reviewed, competition for a position will likely be more vigorous than that
which is experienced in the general application process. Therefore,
candidates who are unsuccessful should in no way be discouraged from
applying to Stony Brook in the future.

A limited number of institutions have been invited to participate in this
program. Please see your premedical advisor for further instructions. All
nominations will be through the Premedical Office.
