QR CIRCLES
Quantitative Reasoning is something that we use all of the time, often without even thinking about it.  Join us as we discuss some topics relevant in all of our lives and try to strengthen these skills.

*        Making decisions regarding everyday purchases such as Metrocards, phone plans, etc.

Participants will perform the appropriate calculations to analyze the MTA's MetroCard bonus system and current phone plans and determine solutions to practical everyday problems.

*        Putting numbers in perspective - should you believe a statistical study?

Participants will review statistical information showing how numbers can deceive by looking at information from polygraphs, mammograms, and more.

*        Interpretation of voting trends - does the majority always rule?

Participants will review voting methods, contrast electoral votes with popular votes and review different primary and election regulations to answer this question.

*        Controlling your finances - making decisions regarding loans, credit card balances, etc

After learning to make necessary calculations, participants will learn how to use interest rates in financial situations and will then be better prepared to make decisions based on analytical reasoning.
