Position Description:
Part-time bilingual-English and Chinese (Mandarin) research / project coordinator needed to assist physician with research projects taking place within the Department of Pediatrics at NYU School of Medicine / Bellevue Hospital Center/Charles B. Wang Community Health Center. Project involves looking at the impact of parent literacy on children's health, with a specific focus on early childhood obesity prevention. Our project seeks to incorporate evidence-based health communication strategies for the promotion of parent-provider engagement around child diet and activity-related issues, in partnership with the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center.
The research assistant / project coordinator would help with multiple aspects of research projects, including but not limited to:

Coordination of data collection:
- Enrollment of families
- Performing parent interviews and administration of assessments
- Coordination of follow-up
Maintenance of research data:
- Scoring of questionnaires and assessments
- Data entry / database creation
Administrative support:
- Preparation / translation of documents
- Preparation of materials for assessments
- Assistance in preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents
- Assistance in manuscript and grant preparation
- Ordering / organizing study materials, including incentives for participation and office supplies

Qualifications:
- Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) required. Candidate should be able to read and write in both languages. Fluency in both Mandarin and Cantonese would be beneficial but not required.
- Excellent communication and organization skills necessary
- Prior experience working with children and families a plus
- Prior research experience preferred
- Ability to commit for at least 1 year essential (2 year commitment preferred)
