PUBLIC POLICY/PUBLIC SERVICE SUMMER INTERSHIPS:  

STIPENDS AVAILABLE FOR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS

DEADLINE: ASAP

The Jewish Foundation for Education of Women, a private, non-sectarian
foundation, in partnership with Hunter College, is seeking qualified Hunter
women for the JFEW Summer Internship in Public Policy and Public Service.
Interns will be required to work a minimum of 35 hours per week for an
8-week period, and will be placed in the offices of elected officials,
government agencies and not-for-profit organizations.  Stipends are
available for full-time students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who live in New
York City (or within a 50-mile radius), and are able to provide proof of US
Citizenship or legal resident status (e.g. Green Card), and demonstrated

Susan H. Simon is the Coordinator for the JFEW Summer Internship in Public
Policy and Public Service Program at Hunter College.  Before joining Hunter,
Ms. Simon was a real estate and land use attorney in private law practice
with Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. and Paul Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP.  Ms.
Simon also served as Deputy Counsel for the New York City Department of
Parks and Recreation, and worked for the New York State Attorney General's
Office, the New York City Law Department and the New York Power Authority.
Ms. Simon received a B.A., cum laude, from Tufts University, and a J.D. from
the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  Ms. Simon can be reached at (212)
